Sydney Alice Clark was awarded a Ph.D. from the Sorbonne, Paris III, in Comparative Literature. She is now a retired professor. She publishes short stories and poetry in French and English. Her short story manuscript, A Darker Shade of Light (2011), was awarded first prize (le prix Technikart Magazine) at the Paris Book Fair; Le théâtre romantique en crise, Shakespeare et Nerval, 2005, was short-listed for a research prize by the Franco-British and the Franco-American Higher Education Associations (SAES and AFEA).  Alice Clark-Wehinger has recently launched a foundation for raising awareness of prostate cancer.
