Where We’ll Be
The 18th International Conference on the Short Story in English will be held at Hendrix College, in Conway Arkansas. We’re excited to welcome writers, scholars, and readers from around the world to our campus for this year’s conference.
The closest commercial airport to Hendrix College is the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT) in Little Rock, approximately 35 miles from Conway.
Conference attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation between the airport and Conway. Several ground transportation options are available at Clinton National Airport, including Uber, Lyft, taxis, shuttle services, and rental cars.
At the airport, taxi service is available outside baggage claim near Exit H. Rideshare passengers should use Exit F and follow signs to the designated pickup area near the parking deck.
Traveling with a group?
If you’re arriving at the airport with a large group, contact conference staff at shortstoryconference@gmail.com and we can help arrange shuttle transportation.
Transportation
Hotel and Campus Shuttle Service
Complimentary shuttle service will be provided between the designated conference hotels and Hendrix College campus each day of the conference, at no additional charge.
Shuttles will run routes three times daily:
Morning: from conference hotels to campus, starting one hour before the first session
Afternoon: between campus, conference hotels, and Hendrix Village restaurants during scheduled lunch breaks
Evening: from campus to conference hotels following scheduled conference activities
Specific departure times and pickup locations will be provided to registered attendees before the conference, and will also be available at check-in.

We've finalized a discounted room block for conference attendees. Hotel options:

(The group rate will extend to three days before and three days after the conference.)
Parking
Parking is available on campus at no cost. For the closest access to conference events, use the Bailey Library or Mills Center lots.
While in Conway
Attendees are encouraged to explore what Conway has to offer, from local restaurants and coffee shops to parks, trails, and small-town charm.

A good place to start is just across the bridge from campus, where The Village at Hendrix offers a lively cluster of restaurants, coffee shops, and the Entertainment District.
