J.R. (Tim) Struthers is highly respected throughout Canada and internationally by scholars and creative writers for his work as a bibliographer, an interviewer, a literary critic, an editor and publisher of Red Kite Press. To date he has edited some thirty volumes of theory, criticism, autobiography, short stories, and poetry over a period, it amuses him to say, of six different decades – with books on or by such outstanding writers as Clark Blaise, George Elliott, Len Gasparini, Jack Hodgins, Hugh Hood, John Metcalf, Alice Munro, and James Reaney. Among these titles are his important pair of Guernica Editions collections, Clark Blaise: Essays on His Works and Clark Blaise: The Interviews (2016), followed by a series of volumes for Guernica Editions in honour of Alice Munro including Alice Munro Country: Essays on Her Works I and Alice Munro Everlasting: Essays on Her Works II (2020) and Thank You for Visiting: Essays on Alice Munro’s Works III (2025), then Con Brio: The Life and Works of Len Gasparini (2026).
