Kuan Sun, is originally from Beijing and graduated with a Master of Arts from Nanjing University. She studied and worked in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seattle, Wellington, Singapore and other places before setting in Singapore. She started writing in 2018 and is member of the Singapore Association of Writers. 

She has authored a series of essays in the ‘Free Time’ series, an autobiographical prose anthology The Best Is Meeting You, non-fiction story ‘A City under the Bleak Moon’, poetry anthologies Over the Rivers and Sea, The Moon and Tulips, poem and oil painting collection ‘A Variety of Tulips’, fiction short stories collection Love of Ice, Love of Fire and The Singapore Lizard. Singapore Cendol is her first novel. 

She has won many awards including as the best fiction short story writer for the 4th Overseas Chinese Literature Award of year 2026 and the best fiction short story writer for the 7th Chinese Literature Award of year 2025 in Southeast Asia. She also won the first prize in the 4th Xinxingling International Chinese poetry competition. In year 2023 she won the 19th Literature Award for the best Southeast Asian Chinese Literature. In year 2021, she won the First Prize of the 4th Fang Xiu Literature Award for non-fiction.
