Gloria Chung Hay Ng was born in Hong Kong, her family came from Yanping, Guangdong Province, Mainland China.  She graduated from Hong Kong Baptist College (Diploma) in 1975.  She had obtained her Bachelors of Arts in 1994 at the Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master of Arts at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2001.  She had immigrated to Canada in the early 80's and had returned to Hong Kong in the 90's. 

Her early lyrics To the Children was collected in a cassette tape〈青葱小徑〉published by Breakthrough Magazine in 80's.  She also completed Had Christ not come, premiered in the University Academic Church at Christian Emphasis Week, Hong Kong Baptist College.  Poem Mother and Daughter became the lyrics for a Suite for Soprano and Piano by a famous Chinese Canadian composer Mr. Huang An-lun.  Premiered in Chinese Music Week, The Contemporary & the Traditional, the 33rd International Congress of Asian and North African Studies, organized by Chinese Canadian Music Society of Ontario and Toronto University Society in 1990.  The lyrics To the Glory of God, also composed by Mr. Huang, commissioned and premiered by Hong Kong Baptist Church, celebrating their 100 Anniversary in 2001, premiered in the Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The work was nominated successfully in 2002 CASH Golden Sail Music Awards.  The Poem Windy Days was collected for the book Selected Works of New Poetry Creation in Hong Kong in Recent 50 Years published by Hong Kong Public Library in 2001. 

She was the founding member of Overseas Chinese Women Writers' Association in 1989, Berkeley, USA and Chinese Canadian Writers' Association in 1987, Vancouver, Canada. She is also a member of Composers & Authors Society of Hong Kong Limited (CASH).
